After conquering the indian youth’s heart more than 20 years ago, yamaha is back again with a bang launching a true blue sports bike with racing pedigree that makes the other big daddys in the market bite dust. Yeah its the YZF R15- the 150 cc sprinter from yamaha thats all ready to clinch the performance benchmark from the pulsar 220 DTSfi.
the R15 is a completely new offering to the indian market. It has 149 cc, all aluminium DiASiL engine with forged piston thats lighter, more heat dissipant and has less wear than its steel counterparts. A single cylinder that breathes through four valves is cooled by air damns from the cowl as well as the headlamp cluster that further improves the efficiency of the engine besides improving the aerodynamics. The suspension is monoshock on the rear and telescopic on the front with discs on both the tyres that give the machine immense stopping power. A deltabox frame that is directly inherited from the R1 helps in an awesome cornering. Yamaha specific humachine technology that improves driving dynamics combined with a six speed manual transmission that seamlessly delivers power onto the tarmac makes this bike utterly desirable. The result is a beast that pulls itself to a 60 in about a 3 seconds and hits the three digit in under a 9 seconds making it the fastest production bike in india. The bike is capable of a 145kph(true) and looks as if ready to exhilerate you at any speed. 
Yamaha unlike its counterparts which come up with a new feature every quarter has the bike fully loaded at its initial launch itself. The bike has a fuel injection, liquid cooled engine, 4 valve cylinder making it technologically a state-of-the-art machine as per indian standards. Mileage which usually a downside of yamaha in india is also catered by putting in a FI which gives decent figures of over a 40kpl thats on par with the segment average.
So for all the power crazy bikers born in the unlucky side of the eighties(who couldnt ride the RX100), this is the ultimate machine with the R DNA.
