The new 1.5 litre 16v variable valve timing engine  delivers an impressive 118 brake horse power . The car puts out  a peak 146nm of torque with the engine revving at 4800 rpm. Unlike in the old version there is no option for two engines, but is not a pullback as you get  a more powerful and a sophisticated engine with added dynamics at the same price.

Design : The arrow shot design form on which it is based give the car an advanced aerodynamic design. The long blacked out head lamps with reflectors running into the front grille give a bold and a rather distinct look.

                  The dual tone interiors in the  car are simply stunning with gizmos like the fuel consumption indicator and the Advanced Integrated Audio System is the world‘s first car audio exclusive to digital media.

Transmission : The automatic gearbox option is available in the city with a first in class Paddle Shift that allows F1 style gear changes. The paddle shift allows you to change gears without engaging the clutch.

                              The manual is driven by a wire type mechanism unlike the traditional rod shifts that allows a smoother gear change. The hydraulic clutch allows for a lighter and  fatigue free ride on long maneuvers.

Performance : The newly developed engine puts out top of the class power without much compromise on the fuel efficiency,thanks to the VTEC. The intake valve timing and valve lift settings that are intelligently monitored by the processor under the hood form the heart of the Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control System, called the VTEC.

                   The car propels itself to a 100 kph in 11.8 seconds, an impressive 2 second quicker than the previous version ( about 14.6 for the AT) and with a proper distribution of torque over all bands

Comfort : The suspension is Mc Pherson Struts at the front and H-type torsion beams at the rear with stabilizers on each of them to provide a comfortable ride. The air con is powerful with icing like under seat vents for the rear passengers that provide total comfort for those in the cabin. The interior space has also increased with a 100 mm wheelbase widening.

Safety : Dual SRS airbags from now on will be standard on all Honda in India and this is the beginning. The 3 point ELR seatbelt pretensioners prevent excess stress on the driver and front passenger chests to reduce injuries.

               Anti Lock Braking system is also a standard now on the Honda with Brake Assist that helps in agile cornering and increased brake force when utterly necessary. The G-CON technology helps in controlling the impact energy in case of a collision.

With the new generation city, Honda is  further trying to consolidate its position as a the most renowned premium car maker in the country.

The new city is available in three variants 1.5E (MT)  and 1.5S (MT and AT) and is available in six colours – Habenero Red Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Polished Metal Metallic, Bold Beige Metallic, Tafetta White and Crystal Black Pearl. The 1.5E MT comes with Grayish Beige interior colour while 1.5S (MT & AT) has Beige interiors.

After months of rumour and speculation, Apple launched the i-Phone 3G in a june conference where Steve Jobs surprised the mobile world not only with a 3G i-Phone, but also with a price tag, half that of the original device that went on sale an year ago. The 3G phone has a host of new features that set it apart from the ordinary device.

GPS :  The assisted GPS on the new device works by communicating with tracking satellites unlike the old i-phone which located itself based on the nearby towers. The new device also offers tracking facilities that enable you to know the path you’ve followed on a trip or so.

3G : The new phone downloads pages from the internet in 3G networks with a maximum speed of about 384 Kbps, thats more than double that of the previous generation phone. The device supports three new 3G bands ( 850, 1900,2100 MHz) that enable the device to be used in all high speed networks in the world. The new phone continues the support for UMTS and HSDPA networks and automatically switches to the fastest network.

Enterprise Support : in an effort to attract the Blackberry users, Apple incorporated Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, push e-mail, calender and contacts. The release of the SDK enables corporate users to design applications to suit their necessity. i-phone 3G uses Cisco IPSec VPN to ensure the highest level of IP encryption.

SDK : The release of the official software development kit enables more third party applications to be developed. The apple store now has currently about 500 apps of which more than a 100 are free. 

 Besides the new features, the i-phone 3G also has an inbuilt accelerometer (on which many of the phones games are based on), an awesome multi touch interface, 3D positional audio and a decent 2 megapixel camera. The software update 2.0 with which the phone comes decreases the bugs and also adds new features to the device. the battery life also has been substantially increased to a 5hr 3G life, 10 hr 2G life, 5hrs of 3G internet and 6hrs of Wifi usage. The device has a standby time of about 12.5 days. Unlike the previous phone which prevented many headphones to be plugged into the 3.5 mm jack because of a groove, it is now possible to plugin any good headphones you love.

 despite support for a host of new features, the device still lacks the age old MMS facility and a video recording feature.

  the addition of 3G and GPS with avery affordable price tag of $199 make the i-phone 3G a worthy prospect. For everyone who needs a  good business phone with awesome multimedia capabilities, it makes a very good deal for your hard earned cash and for all apple lovers, this is a must buy.

the R15 is a completely new offering to the indian market.
